Mallett 12th at USAT National Championships, 5 in top 30

By: Riptide Multisports

Pete Mallett raced strongly through all three disciplines to garner a coveted top-12 placing at the USAT Elite National Championships. On the bike Mallett executed well and positioned himself in a large pack of riders before gaining more ground on the run, moving into 12th place.

Haven Barnes meanwhile was right with Mallett on the swim and bike and ran nearly as well, finishing in 14th place.

Adam Truex, who was the first Riptide athlete out of the water, finished in 24th place.

Riptide employed team tactics as coach Sean Wendt had Matt Balzer sit up on the bike to wait for Jordan Jones. The two raced strongly once together and finished 28th and 22nd respectively garnering Team Riptide 5 athletes in the top 30.
