Truex Runs to 14th Place finish at Elite National Championships
By: Riptide Multisports
Adam Truex led the way for the Riptide Elite Team at the Pro National Championships in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Adam was slowed a bit by the strong current in the Black Warrior River, but was able to join up with teammate Matt Balzer on the bike.
The two were able to work together on the draft-legal ITU bike course for a good portion of the bike leg before the pack split apart. Once out on the run, many athletes faded in the intense summer heat, but Adam ran strongly all the way through to the finish. Matt Balzer had a strong swim and bike, but struggled with
cramping and heat exhaustion on the run, but still managed to finish a solid 23rd.
